PATRICIA KOBELIN is a Ft. Lauderdale native and life-long artist. Primarily self-taught, she studied at Broward College - Fine Arts (degree in progress) and various private instruction but primarily learned through experimentation and exploration. Her lifelong passion of art led her to various media, including ceramics, photography ( manual camera/darkroom), color pencil, pen & ink, pastel, lost-wax gold/silver jewelry, fiber art, mosaics, and sign graphics. Her natural talent is composition yet forever exploring whimsical subjects, just to see if she can. “Learn to embrace the process, not the results. Explore those side-roads! Hidden inspiration appears in unexpected places and unusual angles! Art is about noticing and embracing it when it appears. I am a work in progress, continually evolving.”
Her ceramic art is primarily slab work, and the clay is mid-fire stoneware. Her work is in private collections as well as public art projects for City of Pompano Beach as one of a team of mosaic artists who combined talents of handmade ceramics with mosaic tiles to create multiple permanent art installations from the beach to a gazebo floor.
Patricia has recently shown her work in local galleries in Fort Lauderdale , including Art Expressions, ArtServe, the Rossetti Museum in Pompano Beach as well as a gallery in Minturn, Colorado
