The place I’m interested in is where the mind goes when it’s trying to make up for what isn’t there.

Juan Sebastian Restrepo is a Florida-based artist whose work explores the complex intersection of memory, identity, and storytelling. With an MFA from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a BFA from Pratt Institute, Restrepo’s paintings and drawings examine how narratives shape our perception of self and context.
His exhibitions include Intersections at New World Gallery (2023) and Hybridity at the Edwardsville Arts Center (2018). In 2024, Restrepo will present his first solo show, multitasking, at [NAME] Publications in Miami, FL. He will also debut No Further Expectations Beyond This Night at The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood (Community Gallery) in 2024. His work has been featured in journals like Quibble Lit and Red Cedar Review.
In addition to his artistic practice, Restrepo is an Adjunct Faculty member at Florida International University and Miami Dade College Kendall Campus, shaping the next generation of artists.
